For the second year in a row, a Comal ISD PTA received a grant from the TEXAS YES Project. This year, the grant totaled $15,000 and will be used to expand the Spring Branch Middle School robotics program.
Three Canyon Lake High School students will represent Comal ISD as District 10 officers for SkillsUSA, a national career and technical student organization that helps prepare students for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.
Comal ISD's career and technical education (CTE) manufacturing program just received a $10,000 donation along with a new community partner. With the opening of its state-of-the-art automotive facility in New Braunfels, technology company Continental showed how serious it is about education with the donation and behind-the-scenes student and staff tours.
Under Title VIII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the Comal Independent School District is eligible for Federal Impact Aid funds as the district enrolls students whose parents are active-duty military or work as civilians employed on Federal property. In order to apply for these funds, it is necessary that to collect this information from parents who may fall into one of these two categories.

Annually, Comal ISD hosts an awards ceremony called Night of Stars to honor its campus teachers of the year along with academic team awards and a few surprise awards in various categories.
Student performances and student-designed centerpieces were the talk of this year's Night of Stars Banquet which honored teachers and staff. A high school orchestra ensemble and a middle school choir ensemble were showcased along with the work of students in floral design and construction.
